Johnson & Associates will be presenting "Navigating the State of Maryland Critical Area Law" Every waterfront property has to abide by Maryland’s Critical Area Laws, whether new construction or renovating an existing home. Every property owner needs to understand and be educated about what these regulations mean for their lot coverage, building footprint, and home size. A soil or perc test can determine if a property can be built upon, and if so, what size home is allowed. It is important that realtors have the knowledge necessary to educate their potential buyers about these restrictions and the resources available regarding the Critical Area laws, environmental tests and building permitting. This presentation will provide the information necessary to help realtors guide their clients in evaluating and selling waterfront properties The meeting will be held on May 7, 2021, from 9 am to 11 am. Information on accessing the Zoom conference will be emailed to registered participants before the meeting. Free to all DSAC members, $45 for guests. Featured Charity: BKind is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization that serves the homeless and less fortunate in Maryland. We partner with local county resources, as well as faith-based and secular organizations to provide food, clothing, fresh fruit and produce, canned and dry goods, hygiene supplies, blankets, coats and other necessities to help the people we serve each week. We also seek to connect individuals in need to available local resources in an effort to get them the help they need, and break the cycle of homelessness and poverty, one individual and family at a time.
